We’ve started hosting some friends lately and I happen to be a lazy but fun host. Look, I wish I was the kind of person who would hang lights in her backyard and have a big long table for welcome and cook a gourmet meal for her friends on a weekly basis. Someone who sends beautiful invitations well in advance instead of a text full of typos. But no matter how many dinner arrangements I pin on Pinterest, I just haven’t become this person.(Your Pinterest board doesn’t double as a demo board? Huh. Weird.)But as my mom always says ‘she works smarter not harder’. And I’ve discovered the easiest way to feed your guests with the least amount of energy expended:A cheese board. You stack it on a table, the more crowded/messy the better. Crack open a bottle of sparkling water, wine, kombucha, and have a little snack fest with friends. It’s casual, it’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s usually all gone by the end of the night, so clean up is a breeze. I have never heard a complaint about my cheese boards, at least not to my face.
Do you want to know what can make this even easier? Order all your ingredients fresh with a Walmart+ membership, even add a new board to impress your guests if you want, because with a Walmart+ membership you can order anything from your local store and have it delivered the same day(with a minimum order of $35 and restrictions apply). That is exactly what I did here for my three cheese boards that I love to create for my guests and friends. (Oh, and this is the cheese board I used, what a great price and size!) I can easily search your website or app and curate my cheese board with fresh, high-quality produce and items from my local grocery store without move from my sofa and the prices are the same as in the store. Since their team hand-selects your items just before delivery, you can be sure everything is fresh, just as if you did the shopping yourself. I order my weekly groceries at my local Walmart store and they are delivered to my doorstep with free same day delivery with a minimum order of $35(restrictions apply). They keep my “normal” items in the app and I can easily access the Walmart app and reorder our favorite items each week. It’s very simple and it takes me 5 minutes‘grocery store’weekly. Plus, I can make sure I’m sticking to my budget by seeing the total in the cart as I add it up instead of trying to keep count in my head. I have also been known to order last minute items that I ran out of and need for dinner or lunch that week. With free same-day delivery, procrastination is no longer a character flaw for me.
This is actually my one year anniversary with a Walmart+ membership and I will never look back. And Yes, we are celebrating with a cheese board. 😉 Below are three of my favorites to create over and over again, plus one for the kids. I like to have a cheese board (Salty) and a desert board (Sweet)and then I let Gemma build her own (with lots of help of course!)
